About Operation Kosovo

Kosovo Freedom of Information Act
The Kosovar Assembly is currently considering adoption of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) modeled after those already adopted in neighboring Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The FOIA will give the public free access to governmental information. Click here to view the proposed Act (trilingual version).

IIT & Chicago-Kent Proposed Modifications
IIT and Chicago-Kent students have prepared recommended modifications to the proposed legislation that will guarantee global access to information and ensure local governmental compliance. The modifications, inspired by FOIAs in the US, Western Europe, and the Balkans, address specific ambiguities in the Kosovo draft that could impede Act's effectiveness. These modifications will be presented to the Kosovo Assembly in July.
