During the summer of 2005,
3L Jacob A. Ramer
worked at the T.M.C. Asser Institute, an
international law institute based in The Hague, The Netherlands,
researching and writing for the Section of International Criminal Law and
International Humanitarian Law. He wrote reports for the 2004 Yearbook
of International Humanitarian Law, addressing state practice with respect to
International
Criminal Law (“ICL”) and International Humanitarian
Law (“IHL”) for several countries, including the United States, Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia, and also wrote several
pieces for the soon-to-be-launched Asser website devoted to
issues of ICL and IHL. With the help of his involvement
in Operation Kosovo at Chicago-Kent, Jacob also began working on the defense
team of an ex-Kosovo Liberation Army soldier charged with war crimes at the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and continued
to
do so throughout academic year 2005-2006. Mr. Ramer received his JD degree from
Chicago-Kent in May, 2006.
