Daily Trip Report - July 22, 2003 Jill
Wechsler - Met the people
at ABA CEELI. Then met with Beth Miller and Jessica Webb at CDRC. Went to airport
to see Nicole off and to retrieve my lost baggage. I think that the difficulty
with getting back my luggage might be a good example of the problems with
customer service that many people talk about here. Met with
Liridon from the Law Faculty. He is one of the students who are organizing
another student organization. We talked about his group's objectives and
started working on training him to create websites. I briefly met his
roommate who is a graduate of the IPKO Institute's CISCO certification
program. He is now moving back to his hometown. Went with
Liridon to a panel speaker event about youth activism. The speakers were
Albin Kurti (a leader of students before and during the war) and Philip
Philipopovic (sp?) (born in Belgrade, works in Kosova-Serbian-UN relations).
Spoke with Albin Kurti briefly afterwards - he says that youths do not
have any place to go if they want to take action regarding unemployment
and economic issues. He is starting a new group called the Kosova Action
Network. I met Luan
at the event. After the event, I was introduced to Adem Demaqi.
